I just put this on youtube. It's a very interesting talk on the history and background of the last great chieftains of Ireland. Most fascinating is the complex role that religion played on the events. I hope everyone makes some time to watch all 12 parts of this hour and forty minute presentation by Pat Flannery.

As of today Thomas made the announcement that The Army of O'Neill is no longer participating at the Southern Faire. The group is not folding, but due to Thomas' busy schedule, the A.O.N. will not be making the commitment of doing Southern Faire, we will be attending some small faires throughout the year instead.

Mood Movies

To get folks in the mood for faire.. and to get into a Irish-y mode. I'm listed some of my favorite movies to watch to get the right feel.. Please feel free to add your own.. most of the ones listed I own.

Quiet Man - John Wayne, Maureen O'Hara - One I play every year at St. Patrick's Day. Enjoyable movie all the way through, get to see John Wayne in a great brawl, plus him boot O'Hara's character all the way back to brothers. Premise of it is John Wayne's character is a famous american boxer who'se returning home to Ireland to his home town where he hasn't been back to since he was little. He's trying to forget his past and begin his life anew, he runs into a hot spirited Red hed (Those will be the death of me I know) who he falls for and runs afoul of her brother. It's from the early 50s I think but still a great movie. I have it on DVD and VHS

Darby O'Gill and the Little People - Sean Connery; Disney flick but done back when they weren't trying to be so PC all the time. You see a really young Sean Connery. Has Leprechauns, pookas and Banshees, not to mention Marty's favorite drinking song. Another St. Paddy's Day tradition of mine. Gives you an idea of how myth and religion work hand and hand in Ireland. The DVD I have has some cool extras.

Boondock Saints - Great movie.. modern though but has some great quotes cool gun battles and just a overall feel that get's in the mood to be a Irish bad ass.

Braveheart - Not my favorite movie.. I commonly refer to it as the "lawndart movie" for the amount of swords tossed at folks, but I love the Irishman, as well as some of Braveheart's cohorts. Some decent fight scenes, but it's freaky looking at wrinkly Mel Gibson trying to play like he's really young and trying to seduce the young scottish girl who'se storyline wise only a few years younger than him. DVD and somewhere I think I still have a VHS copy.

Rob Roy - Liam Neeson; Came out the same time as Braveheart, but my favorite. It get's you more of the feel of the highlands versus lowlands attitudes, something resembled in the irish. Favorite scene is the opening one with the tinker thieves.. So much would like to duplicate that one somehow. This one though later than our time period is better at getting me in the right attitude to be Irish at faire. - Have it on DVD, used to have it VHS too, but gave it away. Great soundtrack too for getting in the mood

The Field - Richard Harris; Kind of depressing look at the Irish farmer, but it gives you the feel how the landless in Ireland where thought of.. like Tinkers Gives you an idea of the farmer and what they did to build their land into something. Don't have a copy of it, but usually you can find it to rent

Secret of Roan Inish; Deals with the coast of Ireland, myths like Selkies and such. It's entertaining but can be slow in spots. I like it for it's myth like quality and the love of the sea. I think I loaned or gave my VHS copy away.

Leprechauns - No not the horror flicks, This one had Whoopi Goldberg in it as a Banshee. Loosly based on irish myths. I forget who all is in it, though they are well known. Decent enough flick, nice scenery. VHS

Leprechaun (Horror) movie series - Sheesh I don't know how many of these movies they've put out but amazingly enough they do toss a few tidbits of true Irish mythology in there.. like one had him trying to take a bride.. and if she sneezed three times without someone saying bless you she would of been his bride.. I later found the reference in actual myth lore on Leprechauns. They've had him in the hood, in space, amoungst just terrorizing normal folks. Don't own any copies

Circle of Friends; Minnie Driver, Chris O'Donnel - Another movie I love, I use it to get into accent easily and just like the story. I just like the feel of it. Based on a book by Maeve Binchy. VHS

Fighting Prince of Donegal - The only movie so far I've ever found about the 16th Century Irish at all. A Disney flick done in a Errol Flynn style, they tend to try to make the English look nicer than in real life during the time. Lead character is Hugh O'Donnell, his best friend is Henry O'Neil (who is a ladies man in this one) Kind of cool movie, hard to find though, luckily I own it on VHS.

Riverdance - Musical, lots of dancing Michael Flatley trying to show how much a pimp daddy he is. (He's always looking like he's going "I can have that one, had that one, will have that one", to every woman he dances near). Cool instruments, love the Uilean Pipes and the giant irish drums - VHS and bought mom a DVD I think

Commitments - A movie about a band in reland who tries to make it big playing the blues/R&B. Love the soundtrack.. tons of cool quotes and just a enjoyable flick. Don't own

Matchmaker - Jeannine Garafolo, Dennis Leary - Dennis only plays a cameo in this someone weak Romantic Comedy. It does give you the feel of matchmakers and has some nice scenery but is kind of weak overall; Have it VHS

Waking Ned Devine - Funny movie, haven't seen it in awhile to give you more than a premise though.. Ned Devine passes away right after he wins the lottery, a bankrupt town pretends he's still alive so they can collect the winnings.

Far and Away - Tom Cruise Nicole Kidman; I've never been a big Tom Cruise fan and this movie is what dropped my opinoin even more. He potrays a Irishman who ends up journeying to the Americas to find his fortune. Don't own it, don't want to own it.

The Englishmen who went up the Hill but cam down a mountain - Hugh Grant; Romantic Comedy, and it's about Wales, but it's another that just gets me in the right mindset about country life and Celtic pride.

Irish Jam - Eddie Griffin - Ugh awful movie, the only reason I list is so you don't rent it or buy it. Premise is Eddie Griffin wins a poetry contest writing the lyrics from a rap song of some rapper to win a contest where he wins a pub, he goes to claim it and miscommunication and hilarity ensues. Scenery is the only reason to watch it.

Great Irish Drinks - Kind a mix of a documentary and travel guide. Makes you really thirsty. Great scenery shots and is interesting to find about your favorite alchohols. Must be made by company that has put out several videos like this as I recognized scenes from other simliar moves about ireland. Try getting it on Netflix or Blockbuster as far as renting it. Wouldn't mind owning it.. But be prepared to be thirsty

I'll probably think of more movies later that will get you in the right mood for faire and don't hesitate to share yours., or your opinoins on videos I've posted on The movie doesnt' even have to make sense, it just has to be something that gets you in the mood or attitude to do faire.

If you haven't seen the PBS Show Jakers! The Adventures of Piggley Winks, I whole heartedly recommend watching it. http://pbskids.org/jakers It is a very clever cartoon about an Irish pig and his friends in Ireland. It is the cutest show, and it always has a good lesson to teach. Plus the voice of the sheep is Mel Brooks!

I have updated the AON website calendar with dates and links to all of the upcoming faire's that St. Mike's are doing.

http://thearmyofoneill.org/Calendar.htm

The next event that we are doing is Fort Mac on July 8th & 9th. For those of you who want to go, but haven't signed up yet. I wholeheartedly recommend this event. It is my favorite of all of the little faire's that we do, how could you not love an event where you are on a grassy field over looking the ocean? As opposed to Southern, it is a very easy going relaxing reenactment event.

I hope to see you all there.

Military Mass

How many of you went to the Mass on Easter Sunday? I have been telling everyone who missed it, that they missed out on one of the most incredible shows that I have experienced at faire in the past few years. I thought that it was AMAZING! Andy did a great job putting it together, and Sean did a fabulous job as a priest!

I was really excited about the fact that we were going to see an actual 16th century Anglican Mass, as it would have been performed at the time. But the magical feeling that I felt during it, was beyond my expecations. As my mom and I said after it was over, we truly felt as if we were transported back in time that morning. It was exactly what I needed to remind myself about just why I love this faire and the wonderfully fun feeling that can still be enjoyed after a great show/gig. :)

I mostly stayed in camp except for progresses and a long trek up to the front on Sunday, just to make sure that we saw all of the faire. The only bad thing about our spot at the back of the faire is that we didn't have a lot of visitors. So, how was everyone elses weekend? Anything exciting happen? Any fun new gigs?

Southern Faire begins this weekend...

Southern faire starts this weekend and goes for the next seven weeks. I certainly hope that all of our friends who are not working faire, will come out and visit and play for at least a day. Let me know if you would like to come play, and I'll see what we can do to get you in. :)

For those of you who are working faire, are you all prepared? It is amazing how much there is to gather together, isn't it? My hands are stained brown from staining my new wooden chest that Joe and Jeff worked until midnight last night finishing. It is big and gorgeous, and will be SO helpful in the kitchen tent, so I can live with brown hands for a weekend!

Next on the to do list is baking bite size brownies with toothpicks (to symbolize his eating sticks) in them for Shane's birthday, and hopefully wait for Adam's helmet to be delivered, so that his head will be nice and safe. Spoiling my favorite boys, is the fun part of getting ready for faire. :)

Hey there folks, I was wondering were I could get one of the Southern faire hats.... or what I lovingly call the dutch cocoa pimp hat. I'm trying to get me a nice little collection of hats that will work for Irish. So far I'm the only one brave enough to wear the Phrygian cap, as you can see by a faire shot from last year's FCC. Yes I get Gnome comments galore, and yes I made it worse by adding now a black eye patch with a red hand on it (no pics of it yet, at least that I know of). So now the Pirate Gnome is getting bandied about. Anyway let me know how much they run, and were I can get them from.

A multitude of projects and financial obligations has got the better of me early this year, and as such will be taking all of my time and finances. I wish I could be out shooting with you guys this year, but life throws you curve balls sometimes, and regretfully, it has taken me from playing with my friends. However, I will definitely come out and visit at least one day this year.

We are officially changing location for this weekend's classes and
rehearsals to the National Orange Show in San Bernardino. That is both
Saturday and Sunday. We've got the Citrus Room all day long. People need
to enter and park in gate 7.

For directions go to their website at www.nosevents.com and click on Get
Directions for directions from everywhere.

Very sorry for the last minute notice and for the distance, but it's dry.

Southern Registration News: The latest from ENT

(from Susan Scot Frye, 3/7/06)
Hello RPF Guildmasters and Directors.

The Santa Fe Dam contract (submitted by us to them last June) for the 2006 Renaissance Pleasure Faire has been signed as of about 8:00 last night. Whew. That's the good news and it means we can officially start moving stuff from storage onto the Faire site - which will begin first thing tomorrow (with no rain). More good news - the trucking company that we had contracted with that was standing by to start moving on March 1 has been re-contracted and is on the move.

Because we were hoping to have the Dam contract signed before the 1st of the month, that means that the level of movement activity on the Faire site is going to be at an elevated pitch. With that in mind, we all need to be extremely flexible when it comes to guild and encampment construction, RAPA classes and rehearsals.

Director's Meeting:
We'd like to have a Director's Meeting at 5:00 on Saturday to discuss the terms of the contract and how it will affect us all - specifically in terms of camping. The good news - we're better off than we were last year in terms of our ability to stay on site. The other news - we've got many restrictions on what we can and can't do and need to make sure we're all on the same page.

Rehearsals:
We won't have any stages built by this weekend, but we'll do our best to convey where rehearsals will be. The goal will be to hold Lord Mayor's Show and Queen's Show rehearsals in the general vicinity in which the Maybower stage will be built.

Guild Encampment Construction:
Stake out is still scheduled for this Friday. Please be sure you have either yourself or a representative there if you have any space on the Faire site to be staked out.

RAPA Classes:
Note: I will get this information to the RAPA instructors as soon as I have a comprehensive email list, but in the meantime, here's what's up:
The All Cast Meeting is slated to begin at 9:00 AM. Location: Aiming for the last pavillion in on the Faire site down by where the joust will be set up (where the guildmaster picnic was last month). Look for signs.

If you're still casting, be ready to make a pitch to potential cast members
during this meeting.

10:30 AM: RAPA Classes begin with 2nd Period

Because the site will be in such flux, there is no way at this time to layout exactly where each class is going to be held. Each instructor is going to need to remain flexible and move where it most makes sense to set up. That said, it's important for people to be able to find their classes. To accomplish this, we will be instructing all RAPA students to head to a central location on the Faire site to meet up with instructors (or the instructors rep). Once the class is assembled, the instructor or rep will herd the class to the location in which it will be taught. Each instructor will be provided with 2 class signs. One that will be held up to gather people at the meeting location and one to post at the class location.

I trust this is sufficiently confusing on paper yet will become crystal clear in practice.

Rain:
There are no contingency plans at this point for rain. I'd suggest slickers and umbrellas and planning on pressing on whenever possible. It's critical for the crew to be on site as much as possible, so there really is no choice for most of us but to be there.

Class Numbers vs Class Hours Question:
There has been some confusion reported to me on class requirements. Please let me clarify. This year, Apprentices are required to take 9 classes. Journeymen must take 6 classes. Masters must take 3 classes. These are the recommended basic requirements. It's up to each Director to decide if it's appropriate to replace a class with some instruction offered internally or to write off a class.

Registration Forms:
Each Director is encouraged to bring a huge stack of completed registration forms with them on Saturday and give them to me. We will have some more blanks available, but the bulk of the forms should be coming to us via you.

That means fill out your forms.

Parking... Take Note:

Please instruct all cast members to enter the Faire site by the back gate this weekend - aka last year's participants gate off Peckham. There will be a guard, so just tell them you're here for RAPA and they'll let you in. If anyone goes to the front gate, they'll either just be directed to the back gate or will be charged an entrance fee since the rest of the park is still
open to the public.

Directions:
so from the 210
EXIT Irwindale Ave,
go SOUTH on Irwindale
Right on 1st Street
Left on Peckham
Peckham dead ends at the park gate.

Gaelic Nautical Renaissance.

Gaelic Nautical Renaissance.

Scotland is enjoying a renaissance in wooden boat building.
Organizations are building West Highland Galleys and many ferings are
being built. Such organizations such as GalGeal Are using boat
building and the boats as a way to reintroduce Gael culture to the
people of Scotland and Ireland. In fact Gal Gael built a boat for the
Arron Islands. The Lord of the Isles Trust has a full size Birlinn
that they operate.

The world renowned Scottish small boat designer Ian Oughtred has taken
traditional Scottish vessels designs and adapted them to modern
construction techniques. One of his designs the Ness Yawl is
currently being built and sailed in many parts of the world.

Every year there is a race across Scotland called Sail Caledonia.
Small craft from all over Europe gather for this race. Ian Oughtred
one last year racing a boat of his own design.

In Ireland Currach construction is gaining popularity. There is even
an active US organization that race Currach in the East Coat. The
organization is called the North American Currach Association.

In California a number of Currachs have been constructed by
Renaissance fair participants. In Northern California two vessels
were built by St. Patrick's Guild for the Northern California Fair.
One of these vessels was rowed under the Golden Gate Bridge. In
Southern California two currachs were built. One even had the
traditional hide covering.

I have enclosed a number of links to the sites that I referred to
above. I encourage every one to look at our nautical history as part
of our studying our Gaelic culture.

Be safe out there!

I just added a bunch of new pictures. Go check them out! :)

This group has been too darn quiet for too darn long! Let's start talking!!!

I have been working on a bunch of new creative projects lately. I am still working on the updated website, it looks great and there's tons of new pictures and finally current information. I will bring it to the next meeting and let everyone check it out before we put it online. I have tons of ideas about possible money making plus recruiting ideas to make us bigger and better again! I will share those soon to see what everyone thinks about them, as well. There's lots of ideas churning around in my head. :)

Lots of love to you all...

So, I was feeling particularly creative and was playing with Print Shop Pro the other night and took the O'Neill graphic that was designed by Sandra, and created the new and beautiful picture that I posted as the main picture for this Tribe. I was quite happy with how it came out. I was going for a plaid background that looked kind of like Thomas's infamous peas and carrots plaid. What do you think of my artistic creation??? I think that I may design business cards with this on them for recruitment. :)

Mykiedave Benefit Show

As most of you know, our beloved Mykiedave (Mychael Wordsmythe/David Gotcher) passed away in June. To celebrate his beautiful life, and to help his lovely wife Holly with medical bills, we are putting together a Memorial Benefit on September 17th. We're still sorting out all of the details, but it's to be a catered event, with a silent auction and performances by The Poxy Boggards, Desert Sin, Windows to Sky, Shock Value, and more. Information will be posted once we've nailed everything down, and we sure hope you can make it! In the meantime, we could use a little assistance. If you can help with any of the following, please let me know as soon as possible.

AUCTION:
As mentioned above, we're having a silent auction. So if you'd like to volunteer anything auction-able, we'd love you for it! Goods, services... we'll take whatever we can get. Are you a web designer, a massage therapist, a beautician, a sculptor, an illustrator, an exotic dancer, a seemstress, a dominatrix, a chef? We'll pimp your services! This is a terrific way to advertise, and a truly wonderful way to help out a friend. Does your company have anything that could be donated? Do you manage or own, or know someone who manages or owns, a faire booth that would like to contribute something? Every little bit counts! Used items are okay, too - anything that will bring in money. If you have any questions or suggestions or would like to offer something to be auctioned, please reply to this post or Whitney at: tastygroove@yahoo.com

VOLUNTEERS:
Might you be available to help out with the event? We'll need help with set-up/tear-down, buffet, box office, possibly security, and a couple of people who can help with damage control couldn't hurt. Let me know if/when you'd be free, and if you have there are any specific duties that interest you.

LOCATION:
It looks like we'll probably use The Asylum, but if you have any suggestions for a possible indoor locations (in case of rain), we'd love to hear 'em. We need a stage, and sound, and lights (though we can provide those things if the venue doesn't come equipped). We're hoping for cabaret style seating (bistro tables and chairs, as opposed to general theatre seating) for around 200. A kitchen would be useful, since the event will be catered, and permission to perform with fire would be a plus. Questions? Ideas?

SEATING:
We're looking into renting tables and chairs. If you know someone who knows someone who knows someone who'd like to give us a deal (or perhaps provide them free of charge, considering it's a fundraiser) that would be fabulous. Or perhaps you just know of a good discount party rental place.

TICKETS/BRACELETS:
We're considering offering different ticket levels, perhaps one price for general admission, and another price including dinner. Do you know of any place to get those colored plastic bracelets inexpensively?

FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTIONS:
If you'd like to help us put together this event, we are gratefully accepting financial contributions. You can PayPal WHITNEY (tastygroove@yahoo.com), or just mail her a check (please write Mykiedave in the Notes).

Many, many thanks! Whether you can contribute to this process or not, we sincerely hope you can make it out to celebrate the life of our dear friend. It's going to be a fantastic show and a really fun evening! I'll keep you posted.

Oh, and please pass this on!

''Naked swordsman'' pleads guilty

NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa (AP) -- The naked swordsman is pleading guilty.

Curtis Rarick of North Liberty, Iowa, was accused of chasing his neighbors with a sword. His neighbors told police a nude Rarick was standing in his front yard and they complained.

According to the neighbors, Rarick got upset then ran into his house, came back out and threatened them with a sword. He's now pleaded guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon.

Rarick will be sentenced next month and faces up to two years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

New home for Southern Faire???

> Faire's return to dam pondered
>
> Organizers want long-term deal
>
> By Marianne Love , Staff Writer
>
> IRWINDALE -- For six weekends, thousands of people
> strolled through the replica Elizabethan village at
> the Renaissance Faire, but the looming question
> remains: Will they return next year?
> Representatives of the Faire, which made its debut
> at the Santa Fe Dam Recreational Area on April 16,
> like their new home. And they said they'd like to
> make it a permanent one.
>
> "We'll be more than happy to come back. We are
> looking for a long-term agreement,' said Pete
> Leavell, chairman and CEO of Colorado-based
> Renaissance Entertainment Corp., which runs the
> Faire.
>
> Nearby businesses, however, want a bigger share of
> the largess if the Faire returns.
>
> Leavell and county officials will meet over the next
> few weeks to discuss a deal that could include a
> larger, longer Faire. The decision will ultimately
> fall to the county Board of Supervisors.
>
> "It's looking very good. Supervisor (Gloria) Molina
> was especially delighted in what she saw at the
> Faire. All of the feedback from the community has
> been positive,' said Roxane Marquez, Molina's press
> deputy.
>
> Marquez said the jury is still out until the dam is
> cleared out and the vegetation is replanted, which
> was part of the original agreement between the Faire
> and county parks and recreation.
>
> Two hundred structures and 130 vendors occupied the
> 16 acres in the southern portion of the dam.
>
> "Everyone said, 'Bring it back. It was fun, it was
> great, this location is ideal.' Again, the question
> for the supervisor is not only how it went, but how
> this park looks to the rest of this community after
> this event is over with,' Marquez said.
>
> The Faire ended Sunday. Traditionally, it runs
> through Memorial Day weekend, but that was not part
> of the negotiations this year.
>
> Marquez said it's possible next year.
>
> "This was a test run. We wanted to make certain it
> didn't interfere with the Memorial Day crowd. Now,
> we can imagine what it might be like,' she added.
>
> Faire officials refused to release attendance
> numbers.
>
> Park officials said three-quarters of the 37,306
> cars that went through the front gate were
> Fairegoers.
>
> "They said they had an estimated 10,000 people on
> Sunday,' said Regional Park Superintendent Connie
> Douglas.
>
> Besides hosting the Faire, dam officials employed
> extra people to collect the $7 parking fee and grade
> a designated overflow lot to make room for the extra
> cars.
>
> Douglas said she took impromptu surveys to find out
> how the Faire impacted regular parkgoers.
>
> "It's been very positive. Zero complaints,' she
> said. "They won me over.'
>
> Douglas said one or two people needed medical
> attention because of heat exhaustion.
>
> "There were people who have never been to this park
> before who went to the Faire and now are planning
> picnics and family reunions here. That's good for
> the park,' Douglas said.
>
> Irwindale Sgt. John Falone reported one minor
> accident and no arrests, and said traffic went
> smoothly compared to major holiday outings at the
> dam.
>
> During the summer, it's not unusual to see cars
> lining Arrow Highway waiting to get into the dam.
> Others are turned away.
>
> "When the lake opens only a certain amount of
> vehicles are allowed in. Then, it's shut for the
> day,' Falone said. "We didn't know what to expect.
> It was the first time, and the city is looking
> forward to having them be here.'
>
> Falone checked daily with county police who were
> responsible inside the Faire. He said there weren't
> any reported fights and no cars were broken into.
>
> Irwindale City Councilwoman Rosemary Ramirez said
> the Faire went well.
>
> "I didn't hear any complaints from businesses or
> residents,' she said.
>
> However, the Irwindale business community didn't
> cash in on the Faire crowds like they would have
> liked.
>
> Lisa Bailey, president/CEO of the Irwindale Chamber,
> attributed that to traffic patterns and arrival and
> departure times.
>
> "The way they were fed in and back out circumvented
> the fast-food restaurants, liquor stores, and so
> forth,' Bailey said. "The timing of when people
> arrived early before lunch and leaving late
> afternoon possibly already have eaten before they
> left could also have been a contributing factor.'

Fair Oaks

I have sent out a general invite for Fair Oaks Faire to St Columcille's Tribe and Army of O'Neill & Friends Tribe.

St. Kennoch's will already be there working security and running about during the day when they have free time.

Please take the time to RSVP one way or another. I need an accurate count by the end of this week. If you fail to RSVP (yes or no). Saint Columcilles members are required to RSVP with a yes or no or they will no longer be invited to events. For those of you in AON who are not required to do this event but would like to, please do me the courtesy of a private email RSVP or message via Tribe by the end of the week so I can have accurate figures.

If you wish to camp on site, there is camping. If you need hotel info, the location is Fair Oaks Park in Fair Oaks California. Fair Oaks is about 10 minutes from Folsom.

If you have any questions please email me captainoneill@aol.com.
On your home page should be a link to events ... there is a link to the Fair Oaks web page in the invite.

Thank you,
Daniel

Joe has been very eager to see those pictures of him and AJ shoving each other with their chests, in the pre-battle gig. The pictures came out really good. I keep teasing him about it looking like they are about to kiss, not fight. hehe I will be posting the pictures that I took the last weekend as well. If anyone else has any pictures, please post them! *Nudge, nudge, Charity & Krista* :)

An Irish Movie

There is a actual movie on our time period dealing with the Irish. Sure it's not entirely period, sure it's by Disney. But unlike the Scottish who have Braveheart and Rob Roy, we never have had anything remotely close to our time period as far as I know of. Sadly it's main hero is Hugh O'Donnell, but Henry O'Niell plays a supporting role.

The Movie is; The Fighting Prince of Donegal

So far I've only acquired it on VHS.

"What Happens at Faire, Stays at Faire

Yesterday the morning show DJ's Kevin & Bean, on radio station KROQ in Los Angeles, reviewed Southern Faire on the air. They had nothing nice to say about us. Then again, why would they? After all they are morning DJ's.

This prompted a slew of faire workers to phone in to prove the DJs wrong, and explain how we're not geeks just geeks and sluts. The callers spoke (on-air) of what a wild life we lead backstage and after hours. They mentioned wonderful activities such as wild parties, drugs, sex, underage drinking, and catholic school girl contests. They even mentioned booth names.

What were they thinking? Did they think this was a good idea? Did they think this could help faire? Is it possible these people were high when they phoned in?

In the words of Napolian Dynomite: You're such idiots! Gosh!"

The Army of O’Neill - Irish Military

Sir Cormac MacBaron O’Neill requests that any able bodied Irishmen, who have will, body, and Spirit, avail their services to him under the guise of the Lord Earl of Tyrone, in our struggles against our enemies and oppressors…

At this moment the Earl is here in England. Summoned by Her Majesty to answer allegations of misconduct and abuse of power granted to him by the aforesaid monarch.

The Earl patiently awaits the opportunity to present himself to the Queen and absolve himself of these absurd charges:

That he hath been training an Army in the North of Ireland using the Crowns resources.

That he has misused lead, provided by Her Majesty for roofing, in order that the Irish may live ‘more English’ and has turned it into shot.

That he has carried out the hanging of a kinsman, one Hugh Gavelough.

That he hath contact with the Spanish and is coaching an alliance between himself and King Phillip II of Spain.

That he does not control the likes of his brother, Sir Cormac MacBaron O’Neill, who regularly conducts raiding parties into English ‘settled’ territories and even upon ‘The Pale’ itself.

That he hath formed an alliance against the English with the Gaelic Lords and rebels Red Hugh O’Donnell, Sorley Boy MacDonnell, Hugh Maguire, and Brian O’Rourke.

That he hath purchased arms and munitions from Italian, Spanish, Dutch, and English sources.

That he hath angered Her majesty by assuming the title “The O’Neill” after the Gaelic tradition.

The Earl wishes to explain himself and set straight the claims brought against him by his enemies The Marshall, Sir Henry Bagenal and Sir John Perrot.

Irishmen, we need you as protector and bodyguard now, more than ever, to help in safeguarding the Earl of Tyrone during his stay here in England.

Our army wakes each day to prepare for the event that we may have to face our ‘benefactors’ on the field in battle.

If you should wish to do so, support us and join the ranks of the other Irishmen, who believe in our cause, who wish to keep their religion, and to not be the subjects of Heathens.
