Military Mass

How many of you went to the Mass on Easter Sunday? I have been telling everyone who missed it, that they missed out on one of the most incredible shows that I have experienced at faire in the past few years. I thought that it was AMAZING! Andy did a great job putting it together, and Sean did a fabulous job as a priest!

I was really excited about the fact that we were going to see an actual 16th century Anglican Mass, as it would have been performed at the time. But the magical feeling that I felt during it, was beyond my expecations. As my mom and I said after it was over, we truly felt as if we were transported back in time that morning. It was exactly what I needed to remind myself about just why I love this faire and the wonderfully fun feeling that can still be enjoyed after a great show/gig. :)

I was there - sitting right next to Joe, as a matter of fact.

From a total non-christian / -catholic / -or even religious perspective ... it was a little weird. A lot of pomp & circumstance... but I failed to really "get" the religious experience of the thing. (Much like I sorta sit around & wonder what the heck I'm doing when people take me to modern mass / -religious services)

I'm sure for those with a degree of religious faith - it probably had a lot more meaning...

I was sorta busy watching the "costume changes" ... listening to the choir ... and watching how everyone else was reacting to the "ceremony"

I know that my g/f is going to be regularly attending the mass that Sean puts on each Sunday from now on 'cuz she enjoyed it so much.

As for me... I don't get it. Never have... probably never will. (But that's just the atheist in me talking)

People seemed to like it, though. And that's all that really matters.
